What can you tell us about your occupational experience?
I have been an employee at LL for over 30 years. I started out of a vocational high school at 18 years old as a C technician. I have been in the same group, 72, the entire time working in various areas. I have met some wonderful people and have learned so many skills. I am currently a Chemical Technician.

What do you like most about working at Lincoln Laboratory?
LL is like a second family to me. I work with a great group of people who I can rely on whenever I need help. Every day is something new and exciting. I am still happy to get up and go to work each day.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I really enjoy being outdoors as well as working in my yard. I also enjoy spending time with my family. Now that my kids are older, I no longer coach their athletic teams, but I do enjoy attending sporting events with them.

Where are you originally from?
My family and I are from Honduras. I am happy to share that I achieved American citizenship just a couple of weeks ago. I can proudly say I am Honduran American, Amen!

What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to part take in a lot of natural sports lately, such as hiking and kayaking. In the past I’ve enjoyed going to school and weight lifting. In MIT wellness community I’ve enjoyed participating in our Get Fit programs and meditation classes.

Given the chance what other profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I have become very interested in massage therapy, such as acupressure massage and acupuncture. I suffered a car accident some years back which set me back. I have worked very hard physically to recover and have become inspired by the help my therapists have been able to provide with their knowledge. Understanding the body now from multiple perspectives (thanks to MIT and life) I would like to return to others what help and knowledge I’ve received.

What are your favorite places in the local area?
I love many of the restaurants on the Massachusetts Avenue strip close to the student center at MIT. Also walks by the Charles always help me appreciate some of the simpler things in life and enjoy myself and my health.

What can you tell us about your occupational experience?
I was originally hired as a Shop Helper, which was to prepare me to become a Machinist. In the mean time, a position became available in the Polymer Lab, and I was able to transition into that role after I had been assisting the Polymer Technicians.

What do you like most about working at the Lincoln Laboratory?
I enjoy working with my co-workers, engineers and the people in Group 72. I continue to learn a lot from them and it is a great experience to see what is produced at the Lab.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Right now I'm spending time with my wife and 10 month old son. I enjoy playing Basketball, bike riding, reading, gaming and scary movies.
